Site Facilities
Checking in:
Camping bookings can check in from 2pm
Glamping bookings can check in from 3pm
If you are not able to arrive by 6pm during our low season, or 8pm during our high season, please let us know so we can send you an email with directions on how to find your accommodation or a map of the campsite so you can pitch up.
We will also offer to leave wood outside the shop for you if you arrive late - this can be paid for in advance, before your arrival.
We have a walkie talkie outside the shop/reception. If you arrive to check in and there is no one about, please use the walkie talkie to speak to us..."over and out!"
Onsite Shop
Blackberry Wood has an onsite shop that sells certified dry logs and bbq coals, as well as essentials including locally produced wine, beer, local farm produce, ice creams, sweets, provisions, local products, beautifully crafted jewellery (please see photos below).
Our shop is open daily, 9-11am and 2-6pm.
We shut half way through the day for changeovers and toilet block cleaning.
We ask our campers to only use logs sold on site for campfires as these logs are certified 'Ready to Burn' so comply with new government regulations. We also ask guests not to pick any dead wood on site as this is essential for our wildlife habitat.
Logs and charcoal are £9 a bag and come with a handful of kindling.
Toilets & Showers
There are hand crafted toilet, shower and washing up areas for our campers.
There are also drinking water taps, little sinks to wash in and a chemical waste disposal area if you have a campervan.
Car Parking
We charge £5 per car, per night, during mid-and high season for campers who are coming in a car.
When you book online, the parking is mandatory. Our car parking is very limited during our busier times, so we need car parking booked with registrations for this reason.
If you do not have a car, or have been charged for more cars than you have, please contact us to arrange a refund for this - please quote your reference/booking number.
Eco-Credentials
We are very serious about our impact on the world and all our power supplies are from green energy companies, as well as our own solar panels.
Unlike some other sites, we have our own rubbish disposal with full recycling facilities and expect our guests to recycle as much as possible of their refuse by placing it in the correct bins.
We also endeavour to only use cleaning products that are environmentally friendly.
We have spent £60,000 on a state of the art sewage treatment plant to make sure we conform to the highest standards. Wipes of all sorts wreak havoc with this so we are asking our guests to please refrain from using wipes or at least dispose of them in bins and not try to flush them down the loo as even so-called 'flushable' wipes will block our pipes.
We are trying to avoid the use of disposable bbq's on site. Most pitches on the Blackberry Wood side have bbq grills for your use free of charge.
